“Hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of strength.”
—Uncle Iroh
Graphic design was never part of my original plan. Growing up, I had always envisioned myself as an animation major, drawn to the medium's use of frames and movement. When I arrived at San Jose State, I had no experience with graphic design—it was a class I was mildly interested in and decided
to take as an elective. Little did I know, I would fall
in love and switch my major. I explored various aspects of design like vector drawing and photo editing, but it wasn’t until the end of my freshman year that I truly understood design.
Creating stickers, books, and pamphlets sparked something in me—print design felt tangible, rewarding, and a physical testament to my efforts.
I realized that above all, design was about problem-solving and had incredible breadth. Design's potential was truly endless. My journey in design has been tumultuous, but it has quickly become one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
